So. Now I am in Real Estate. I am a realtor, and much more.
In the documentary “I am Ali”, Muhammad Ali asked his daughter “So everything the God made, the cows, horses, the moon, stars, ants, everything has a purpose,” Ali tells Maryum. “Now what’s your purpose? You’re a human being. If God made the sun have a purpose, humans have a purpose too. You haven’t found your life purpose yet have you?”
“Yes,” she replies.
“If everybody was born for a purpose, what do you think you were born for?”
“To make people feel better,” Maryum answers. “To fix people up.”
“That’s good,” Ali says proudly. “That’s good, Maryum.”
As a goal-driven person, I want to write this to remind myself what my goal/purpose is.
How I got into it? Thanks to Victor, my long time friend who’s much senior and also graduated from Waterloo. I can’t remember how many times I called him about my previous job and how trapped I felt. One day, he said “Join me”. And it just clicked. It just fucking clicked.
I’ve got an awesome team that I love so much. It’s three of us. We are all driven, workaholic and selfless. Most people in real estate business are just playing the individual game. But we really work as a team. Help and motivate each other.
Just this first half year alone:
We are Number 1 sales is Downtown Markham, sold just shy of 100 units at York Condo.
We are Number 1 sales in Angus Glen million dollar townhouses.
We are top 3 in Cosmos Condos in Vaughan (when I didn’t write my CFA because we were just too busy selling), Kennedys in Scarborough, Diamond on Yonge in North York.
Because builders love us, clients love us. No monkey business. No bullshit. Selective about projects that will make clients money.
I am very lucky and grateful to be in such a “flawless” team. Everyone’s got its own strength and talent. Victor really set a solid foundation for us with his over a decade experience in real estate. Chris is probably the hardest working guy on earth. We believe in lean operations. You don’t need a lot of people to generate massive revenue.
To reflect back the past half year, remind myself we still have so much we can do. There are no boundaries or constraints in this business. You can do anything, as long as you do it. We’ve experienced some failures and some projects not doing as well as we wished, but that’s how we grow as a team. It’s also a very competitive industry, which makes sure we don’t slack our ass. But hey, competitors can copy what we do, but they can’t copy who we are.
There are still so much we can do, so much we can improve and so much we can set as new industry norm. We've got lots of exciting projects coming. Work Work Work! Stay curious, stay hungry and stay humble!
Want to know how we operate? Work with us, refer us. We are fast, well-connected, and goal-driven.
